Camp: Day 1&2

I apologize for this late post but we were unable to get internet access until now because wifi is a precious commodity out here as you can imagine.

They have a limited amount of data and it was being used by all of our pilots to navigate in and out of the villages. We had about five pilots running us and the campers in and out of areas for a couple of days.

We had some flights to catch!

We arrived about 2 AM on the fourth (3AM CA time) in Fair Banks and hitched a ride with Rob from Cool Community Church near Auburn, they are our partners for our time here in AK, to Nenana where we are staying with the Nunn's. (Don't worry they're Christians)

We arrived at about three AM in Nenana and all slept on a floor or a couch.

Then we woke up at 5:50 for breakfast. :)

We then took flights from Nenana into really the middle of nowhere Ruby, Alaska literally right along the Yukon.

Pray:

Like the last post this is a start of a tiring but beautiful trip.

It's so easy to be tempted to complain or sin in other ways when tired, pray God would give us supernatural joy!

When we arrived we unloaded our things into our cabins and met up with Victoria, Abby, and Katy!

We've already had strong bonds with our campers as we've already had relationships with some of them in camps previous and have made quick friends with new ones! These Jr. Highers are very friendly!

Today is the fifth as I write and have already been encouraged by the amount of campers God has brought to us! They had to find more beds to fit all of them!

It's been funny hearing terms like "lights out" and "goodnight" as the sun really never goes down! It's 10:16 in the evening and it looks like 3pm outside! The above pictures show us playing "bump" and we've really played lots of it. It's really a game the natives play year round and would kill our youth group in a competition! And the second picture is of Summer she's as loud as her blinged out face is. She is quite the handful which makes her even more precious!

We have all our cabins assigned and all our people situated. some cabins will be hard ones and our students are intimidated so please be praying. The bugs here aren't as bad as last week we are hearing but they still ain't no joke :D

I may or may not have flown a plane. Don't tell my mom.

Well we're thankful for another day by grace.

We heard of a salvation this morning. The boy's names is Justin - please be praying that God would keep him and care for him as he goes home early.

The craziness starts tomorrow and it feels like we've already been here a week!

Blessings

- Alaska Team
